My 10th novel & the most personal yet:

What Will Save Us - Out October 15, 2026 !

Summer 1939: Two young women sent to spy on Britain’s Nazi sympathisers.

One is risking everything for her country. The other for the child she was forced to give away. The handsome German running them has a secret mission of his own: to find the man who murdered his mother — now a powerful Nazi. On Midsummer’s Night, at a party in Kent, their lies, loyalties and secrets will collide — and everything could unravel…

“Claire Seeber's novels are always a treat – gripping, intelligent,
richly imagined and brilliantly written.”

— Sophie Hannah, the Poirot Novels

The Stepmother is Claire Seeber’s sixth book, a Top 2 Kindle international best-seller, selling hundreds of thousands of copies to date, translated worldwide. A compelling, dark and twisty psychological thriller that will grip fans of Gone Girl, The Girl on the Train and The Teacher.

After a stab at being a (bad) actress, best-selling author Claire directed factual TV for years, before writing the first of nine psychological thrillers, including the chart-topping Never Tell and The Stepmother.  In 2012, she was nominated for a CWA Dagger for He Does Not Always See Her; in 2023 she was long-listed for The Bridport Prize with Octopus.  She also writes for stage and screen, features for newspapers such as The Guardian & The Independent and is a qualified Gestalt therapist, when she’s not writing or herding feral kids (hers) or animals.
